Registration of Visas in Russia
According to Russian law, a Russian visa must be registered within 7 working days after arrival in Russia (weekends and holidays are not taken into account).
When staying in a hotel, responsibility for registration rests with the hotel administration. A small registration fee may apply. The registration card will be provided by the hotel the next day at the latest (weekends and holidays are not taken into account).

Hotel registration is valid for the duration of your stay at the hotel. When leaving the hotel and further staying in Russia, you must go through the registration process again at the place of accommodation.

When placing in private property (apartment, private house...), the owner of the property must contact the territorial office of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation (FMS) or the territorial multifunctional center (MFC).
Documents required for registration:
*real estate owner - certificate of ownership of residential real estate.
For a foreign guest:
*copy of migration card;
*copy of passport photo page;
*copy of passport page with visa;
* a copy of the passport page with the stamp of the Russian Border Service about crossing the border.

A foreign citizen who has not completed registration may be prohibited from entering the Russian Federation for up to five years.
 
In case of loss of documents, it is necessary to make copies of the passport, migration card and the detachable part of the Notification.
If necessary, this will help confirm the availability of the necessary documents and compliance with migration registration rules.
